So Mr C and I spent the weekend travelling down to the Nice office in our sporty little Mini.  Our overnight stop off was just outside Dijon.  A lovely chateau in the heart of the Gevrey Chambertin vineyards and nothing but rolling fields of vines as far as the eye can see.  The tranquillity of the place only interrupted by a distant church bell and the serving of a super drop of Chablis.  Sante!

Setting off early the following morning, we finally arrived in Cannes some 7 hours later (thanks to the French vacances!) I knew we should have private jetted it down here!  We are staying in a friends perfectly placed new apartment, just a stones throw from the Vieux Port (thanks Billy), and took a leisurely stroll along by the super yachts and on down the Croissette.

Dominated by the beautiful Belle Etoile architecture of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, the Croissette never loses its magic whatever time of the year.  We found ourselves at the Martinez Z Plage for a quiet dinner by the sea.  Well it was, until the Abba tribute band set up – Brilliant!  Funny just how many of the words to the songs you know.  I am officially the Dancing Queen 🙂
