How lucky is Daniel Hurley?

Published November 4th, 2011 | Author: Wendy

Thats the question you have to ask yourself?  It’s no wonder this young man is enjoying himself so much and has embraced the lifestyle in Fort Lauderdale whole heartedly.

I have just been invited to see his apartment which is in a fairly futuristic block just a minute or two’s leisurely stroll from our offices in the Bank of America Building on the famous East Las Olas Boulevard.  Come up to the pool area he said and have a look at the view….

….and not only can he roll out of bed and be at his desk within a moment, he also has YOLO restaurant, Vibe Nightclub, RARE bar, Timpanos, The Cheesecake Factory and so many more fabulous places all within a stones throw.

Daniel you are truly spoiled my friend!!

I don’t know whether I mentioned it, but Mr C and I decided to have a change of scene after the party at the W Hotel, and we checked out and checked in to the lovely old Colonial style Riverside Hotel in Las Olas.  Its the oldest hotel in town and has a feel of times gone by.  Very relaxing.

Of course, for Mr C the entire breakfast menu had to be sampled and I am not exaggerating when I say that the food is huge.  This is the Belgian Waffle with maple syrup, served with a generous blob of vanilla ice cream and summer berries.  I don’t know how he does it.

Last night we were to be found at the Tower Club, a monthly cocktail party networking event held on the top floor of the Convention Tower (breathtaking views all across town, you can see for miles).  We had been invited along by our new found friends Scott and Andrea Harrington of EWM Realtors.

It was a fabulous fun evening, really busy and buzzing with likeminded business people.  Great to meet so many new faces, Mr C and I are definitely going to join.  We had another treat in store because our friends had booked a table for dinner, so we wined and dined looking at the lights of Fort Lauderdale by night.  Wow!

So back at the hotel, we followed the sound of the trumpet…..yes, you guessed it, our friend Wesley Phillips was back at the Golden Lyon giving it large….so much for our early night!

So we were treated to some foot tapping eighties classics.  How about ‘Ain’t no Stopping us now’ said Mr C, can you do that one?  And he did it fabulously.  What an amazing man.

When his set was over he came and sat with us for a while.  We learned that he used to tour with Michael Jackson and some of the greats…..well Wesley you can come and play at my party anytime :)

So today was our last day in what is now a very sunny Florida….why couldn’t it do that for the boat show?

So I wanted to do a shopping dash to that very fine American institution…Maceys!  Man, I love this store.  It has everything you can ever imagine and outside as of today the most giant red reindeer I have ever seen in my life.  I am talking palm tree size here!  It must be Xmas!!

I managed to do a trolley dash and grabbed myself some bargains, it’s so cheap to shop here, I could become a danger to myself.  Bought my lovely daughter a few mean treats for her birthday on Sunday….Leah I am going to be your favourite.
