Where is Sydney?
Sydney is located in Australia, on the east coast facing New Zealand. The city is on a coastal bay with the Tasman Sea to the east, the Blue Mountains to the west. It is bordered by the Hawkesbury River to the north and the Royal National Park to the south. Of course, it is usually easier to find it with a map so here is one for you:
Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport is located south of the city centre and only 8 kilometres away. IT makes it really easy to access from town and it’s a real help when you book a hotel near the city centre.
What to do in Sydney?
When people think about Sydney, they think about the Opera House. While an Iconic location to visit because of its architecture you might also want to stop in the evening to enjoy one of the performances available that day. The Opera house has indeed several performance venues. It is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. People also think about Australia as a place where all the animals are out to kill you. While some spiders are indeed dangerous in Australia, Sydney also houses the stunning Taronga Zoo. It features many native animals and even allows for sleep overs in luxurious safari tents for after-hours adventures. During the day, if you are in search for culture, the Sury Hills galleries are open to fan arts so feel free to take a wander and soak in the local displays. Architecture enthusiasts should stop at the harbour in view of the Harbour Bridge, or simply walk across it. It is still to this day the 6th biggest arch bridge in the world. You can also take a stroll in the Royal National Park to admire the beautiful landscape, rivers and beaches that are only found in this area. If you are lucky enough to visit Sydney in January, you can attend Sydney Festival, that feature not only bands (international and local) but also artist performances, acts and burlesque circus in a car free town centre.
