Where is Bermuda?
If you have ever heard of the Bermuda Triangle, you may know that the Bermuda Island is one of the points of the triangle. They are, in fact, in the Atlantic Ocean almost directly across Florida, to the north east of Cuba. Obviously, since the island is in the middle of the ocean, it might be easier to locate with a map. Here is one to help you locate it:
The Airport (L.F. Wade International Airport) is located on the northern part of the Island, near Saint Catherine’s Beach and is easily accessible by road. The island is not very big anyway so every part of the island is fairly close to the airport.
What to do in Bermuda?
Ok, on a tropical island, we assume that your main concern will be to do absolutely nothing but lie on the beach and work on you tan. There is a very wide choice of beaches in Bermuda and as the island is basically surrounded by white sandy beaches, you’ll just have to take your pick. Horseshoe bay beach for example is a very popular choice. If you like golf, you won’t be disappointed. Many golf courses are available, such as the Port Royal Golf Club or The Turtle Hill Golf Club and even a mini golf course: the Bermuda Fun Golf which is great for children from age 8 to 88! Bermuda Island also has its museums, for example the Maritime Museum, the National Museum or the Natural History Museum if you are thirsty for some culture. You can also visit the Aquarium and the Zoo if you would like to learn more about the local fauna. Horses are also available at Spicelands Riding Centre where horse lovers will be able to ride them along the beach. Finally, a real favourite local attraction is the Crystal & Fantasy Caves. The network of underground caves, some of them flooded is magnificent and a little claustrophobic but if you don’t mind spending time underground, we highly recommend taking the tour.
