Where is Barcelona?
Barcelona is located on the east coast of Spain, in the Mediterranean Sea, south of France and across Mallorca. The city also has a very busy harbour located near the town centre. If you still can’t figure out exactly where Barcelona is, you can find it on this map:
Barcelona–El Prat Airport is located south of the city, about 30 minutes away. Roads and motorways are connecting it to the town centre and make the trip fairly short.
What to do in Barcelona?
Alright, In Barcelona, with the heat, the beaches and the Mediterranean Sea, sun tanning seems like an obvious choice, but there is more to Barcelona than sandy beaches. Montserrat for example, will offer you a wonderful park in which you can walk and enjoy nature and a museum to entertain you. If you like museums, CosmoCaixa is a science museum with permanent exhibitions about nature, planets and matter. On your way out, to stay in new technologies, you can go to the Aeroteca to pilot a plane in a simulator.
Art and architecture are present everywhere in Barcelona. The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya is the perfect place for art aficionados. The Gothic Quarter is the ideal location to take a stroll amongst historical buildings. You can visit the Casa Batllo, one of Gaudí’s architectural marvels. You can also visit one or more of the many cathedrals, like the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia for example. If you like music, you will also enjoy Barcelona as you can visit the Palace of Catalan Music with one of the guided tours or simply take a course of flamenco dancing at La Casa Vella.
