Let’s start with some numbers

Completing its first test flight in early 2006 it was no surprise that the Challenger 605 soared into the market with such great success. Bombardier took the popular 604 and completely upgraded its design including larger windows, wider cabin area, external changes including a signature rounded tail cone and a brand new EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) system making aircraft management maintenance tasks quicker than ever before.

The Challenger 605 stands proud at a height of 20 ft 8 in (6.3m), a wing-to-wing span of 64 ft 4 in (19.61) and exterior length of 68 ft 5 in (20.85m). It’s luxurious cabin is 28 ft 3in (8.61m) long, a centreline width of 8 ft 2 in (2.49m), floorline width of 7 ft 2 in (2.19m) and a cabin height of 6 ft 1 in (1.85m).

The Challenger 605 has a maximum flying altitude of 41,000ft (12,497m), maximum speed of 0.82 Mach (541 mph), can take 20,000 lb (9,072 kg) of fuel and has a maximum range of 4,000 NM (7408 km).

What equipment makes the Challenger 605 such a good charter jet? Innovations using the latest EICA system allow a pilot to make safety checks and aircraft management options even easier and quicker than before. The EICA system is paired with an electronic control panel and Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 LCD Screens to display and manage the information live. The Dual Inertial Reference System gives Pilots instant and precise information regarding the Challenger 605’s velocity, position and orientation whilst in flight, making it faster and more efficient to make the aircraft fly smoother and for the pilot to be more physically aware of the aircrafts surroundings.
